What Changed in CCNP ENCOR v1.2 (350-401)
Cisco released version 1.2 of the CCNP Enterprise core exam, ENCOR 350-401, effective 19 March 2026. If your book or video course was written for v1.1, some of it no longer matches the exam. This guide lists what we can confirm from Cisco's v1.2 exam topics.
Domains and weights in v1.2
| Domain | Weight |
|---|---|
| Architecture | 15% |
| Virtualization | 10% |
| Infrastructure | 30% |
| Network Assurance | 10% |
| Security | 20% |
| Automation and Artificial Intelligence | 15% |
What is different
- The last domain is now Automation and Artificial Intelligence. The automation topics are still there: Python scripts, JSON, YANG data models, REST API response codes, EEM applets, and comparing agent and agentless orchestration tools.
- Wireless is gone. The v1.2 exam topics contain no wireless objectives. Several training providers report that Cisco moved wireless into a separate certification track. If your material has chapters on wireless design, you can skip them for ENCOR v1.2.
- Product names moved on. Topics refer to Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN, Cisco Catalyst Center (formerly Cisco DNA Center) and SD-WAN Manager. Older material may use the previous names.
Cisco publishes a topic list rather than a change log, so for a line-by-line comparison read the v1.1 and v1.2 PDFs side by side.
How to check whether your material is current
- Open the v1.2 exam topics PDF from Cisco and look at the domain names. If your book has a wireless domain and no AI mention, it follows v1.1.
- Check the publication date. Anything written before March 2026 may follow v1.1.
- Match the chapter list against the six domains above.
Where the BoardITGuy ENCOR board fits
The Cisco ENCOR study board follows the v1.2 exam topics, one sheet per objective, with flashcards and practice questions for each. It puts reading, recall and practice tests in one place, with a Treemap that shows what is left; it is not a hands-on lab. If you plan to continue to a concentration exam, see which CCNP exam comes first.
